Types of Writing

Narrative: Tells a story, usually in first person point of view.

 

Descriptive: Describes in detail characteristics and traits.

 

Expository: Gives information about various topics.

 

Persuasive: Providing reasons and examples to infuence an action.

 

Metaphore: A figure of speech applied to an object/action.

 

Simile: A figure of speech when comaparing one thing to another.

 

Biography: Written by someone about someone else.

 

Autobiography: Written by someone about themselves.
